In 1979, St. Cloud Christian School was founded with a clear purpose and a different name: King’s Academy.

From the beginning, this school was built around one central commitment—to proclaim the name of Jesus in the lives of students and families through Christ-centered education. By God’s grace, that mission has shaped us for more than 46 years and continues to guide us today.

The same mission. A new season.

As we prepare to move into our new campus in Waite Park, our vision hasn’t changed. Our commitment to Christ-centered education in Minnesota remains firm and steady. What has changed is our season, and with it, an opportunity to more clearly reflect who we have always been.

St. Cloud Christian School has never been defined by a single city. For decades, families from across Central Minnesota have been part of this community. As we step into a new building and a broader reach, we’re embracing a name that invites families from across the region into a shared identity.

We are returning to our original name:

Why King's Academy

This name reflects a truth that has always been at the heart of our school. We serve the same King today as we did at our founding. King Jesus is the head of this school. Our building, our education, our families, our plans, and our future all belong to Him.

A King Like No Other

The King we serve is powerful, righteous, and sovereign. Yet He leads in a way unlike any other. His authority is revealed through humility, sacrifice, and love. Scripture tells us that God placed all things under Christ’s feet and appointed Him to be head over everything. That truth shapes not only what we teach, but how we learn, lead, and live together as a school community.

Looking Ahead

As we enter this next chapter as King’s Academy, we invite you to continue praying with us. Pray that King Jesus would be exalted in everything we do, now and for generations to come. The name may feel familiar, but the story is still unfolding, and we’re grateful to walk into this season together.
